The ground rules for using Marmalade, written to be read, not skimmed past. Here's the deal between you and us.

You own everything you save. We just keep it safe and hand it back when you ask.
Don't use Marmalade for anything illegal or to hurt other people. Simple.
Marmalade is brand new, so features can change and things may wobble.
Close your account any time and take your data with you on the way out.
By creating an account or using the Marmalade app, you're agreeing to these terms. If you don't agree with them, that's completely fine. Just don't use the service. If you're using Marmalade on behalf of someone else, you're confirming you're allowed to.
You're responsible for keeping your login details safe and for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information when you sign up, and let us know if you spot anything suspicious. You must be old enough to form a binding agreement where you live.
Everything you create in Marmalade (your entries, photos, trips and notes) belongs to you. Full stop.
To actually run the app, you give us a narrow permission to store, back up and sync that content, and to display it back to you. If you choose to turn a trip into a shareable page, that page becomes reachable by anyone with its link. Outside of that, we don't use your content to train anything, advertise, or show it to anyone you didn't choose to share it with.
Please don't upload anything illegal, break the law, infringe someone else's rights, or try to disrupt, reverse-engineer or overload the service. Don't use Marmalade to harass or harm others. If you seriously misuse it, we may need to suspend or close your account.
We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material or any content that endangers a child, anywhere on Marmalade. Any account found doing this will be terminated immediately and reported to the relevant authorities.
Marmalade is brand new. Features will keep arriving, some things will change shape, and the occasional rough edge is possible while everything settles in. When something big changes, we'll tell you in the app before it lands.
We work hard to keep Marmalade running and your data safe, but we can't promise it'll be perfect or never go down. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Always keep your own copies of anything truly irreplaceable.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Marmalade won't be liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data beyond what we could reasonably have prevented. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, like our obligations to you under applicable consumer law.
You can close your account whenever you like, and export your memories first. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously breached, or if we have to stop offering the service, in which case we'll give you fair notice and a chance to take your data with you.
As Marmalade grows, these terms may need updating. We'll revise the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll tell you directly. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Marmalade operates, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still stands.
